In an instant the magic of sound opens the doors of the Teatro della Principessa, an imaginative show comes to life on a stage wrapped in a dreamlike atmosphere in which Vanessa Tagliabue Yorke takes us into her musical universe. The repertoire is filled with unusual and fascinating pieces taken from the history of jazz but also from the archive of great composers such as Ernesto Lecuona, Billy Strayhorn, Yamada Kosaku passing through Cuba, New York and Tokyo which makes us discover not only the vocal sophisticated and engaging of Vanessa but also her creative vein and, last but not least, her profound musical culture.
The artistic partnership with Giulio Scaramella, a very young virtuoso and new jazz talent, allows us to easily tackle this variegated repertoire full of rhythm and lyricism, with great personality and using the creative impulse of jazz as the key to an original approach to the aesthetic richness of extraordinary worlds and diversified.
Vanessa’s elegant and intense voice crosses the colors of jazz and cultured music supported by the brilliant interpretative energy of Scaramella, giving us original songs inspired by twentieth-century French music and Italian pages of undisputed beauty that reach straight to the listener’s heart.
The duo opens a contemporary dialogue made up of original pieces with an impressionist color, completing the vision with the greatest themes of jazz history in exploring the repertoire of Ellington, Carmichael, Jerome Kern and Strayhorn.
